Bringing back an old,and yet still relevant today...and still making changes, "sport" that I fell in love with many years ago and am jazzed that my kids are into it at some level or other, in various forms of one or another. I'm talking about the sport/art of board skating,or skateboarding of it's varied and myriad forms.
ssssssso I got my "old" skatebord-or what was left of it-out. It was in bad shape. It very old, I'm guessin' from about 1975. No, it's not my sister's roller skates torn apart and nailed to a 2x4.It was actually built with a lot of thought in mind...nicely shaped to accomidate the Simms wheels that were chose to go on the Pheonix Gull Wing trucks that had been chosen to grace this beast
Now for many years we sand crabs that lived at and for the beach, where constantly trying find a knowlege that the ocean had turned on to us, that everything, including us changes and can be moulded into something that can become 'a part' of what we are really are interested in...
when you ride the surf, whatch how it moves...allows you to move with it as long as you respect and follow it's values, you'll get along fine, and live. If you make a mistake it can be very panfull, even deadly...
We found it in flexy flyers, who also had a rig I forgot it's name. It had four wheels, a handle, you stood up on it, pushed with your feet, threw the handle in the trash, and hit the hills.
It was a way that when,for some reason, you couldn't be in the waves riding, you could take the waves with you...
And so I dug out my old skateboard, took it to work and started stripping it down so I could start refurbishing it I forgot to take a picture of it as it was, but I'm still at the basic rebuild stage, so you'll still be able to see it, step by step, as it goes together.
