10/08/2006   Evan is out cutting up old sticks of alder that I had left over from building the railing around the fireplace many years ago...I glued up 1 1/2 " pieces and planed them down and then cut and reglued them to make the railing, posts and stiles. What a pain...that's probably why I hade a whole pile left. They where just rippers left over from work.
