8/20/2006 ![]() Well, I guess I have to do one of the things I hate to do the most...no, not pay taxes, give birth or die...we are driving to Denver to go school-clothes shopping. Now, mind you I mind Denver for the most part, except the lousy drivers I have managed to escape going the last few years thanks to the internet (that was the year we got broadsided going through an intersection and spent the night and next day in the hospital), but Halley is getting to the age (14) that she really needs a shopping spree !!! So I volunteered and I'm going through with it!!! The only other thing I have to look forward to is that I like to people-watch, favorably from a sitting position-of which I doubt I'll be assuming much !!! That, and maybe catch a movie in a real theatre. Now, another thing that's been on my mind...I got to hear Bonnie Raitt talking to a local d.j. on the radio. He had been hyping her phone call for a few days and was saying how she almost always got into politics. And so in his interview he prompted her to talk about them. The only thing she had to say about them was about voting and how important it was. It took awhile to sink in, but I realized that voting isn't just a right we have in this country, it's a privledge. In fact, it may be the only "privledge" we have that we abuse more the less we use it... posted by David | 8/20/2006 08:34:00 AM |
