3/31/2006 ...Wow...I can't believe it's been so long...it hasn't been so much..well..blogger's block as it has been just finding the time...after all, blogging is something that I like look forward to doing...one of those things that always gets put on the back burner...I have been playing my guitar more lately-so selfish of me-It just seems that since Halley hurt her arm and I've been having to write for her, basically doing her homework, and this bullying thing going on at Ian's school, and trying to get as many hours of work in as I can, I'm somewhere between dog-tired and just flat out of time...So this weekend-if I can wrangle the computer from the kids...I'll try to put down some thoughts...for instance, about the man in Grand Lake that was attacked by a moose !!! http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/8287043/detail.html It is so hard for me to fathom still what a different lifestyle it is here from what I grew up in...even after twelve-or is it thirteen years up here in the Rockies. Just for instance...would you see something like this posted in the L.A. Times ?...I don't think so... Time is running out for Ice Melt ContestTime is running out to purchase Grand Futures’ 2nd Annual Ice Melt tickets. Contestants are asked to predict the month, day, hour, minute and second the refrigerator/freezer falls through the ice. They are also asked to guess the high temperature the day it falls through as a tie-breaker. Last year, the refrigerator fell through the Fraser Pond on April 19 at 10:59 p.m.Tickets are $2 per single guess and three for $5. First prize is $500, second prize is $250, and third prize is $100. Tickets may be purchased at Winter Park Sports Shop, Singin’ Dog CD’s, Rocky Mountain Moonshine, Curves, 4 B’s, Grand Lake Art Gallery, Kremmling Communities That Care, Grand Futures, and any Grand Futures board member. Mountain Parks Electric donated the prize money, so all funds raised can be used for prevention efforts. For more information, call Deb Ruttenberg at 887-9655. ...more to come... posted by David | 3/31/2006 11:20:00 AM |
