A Day in Grand Lake...

Hello, again...
Yesterday Shirley, Halley, Ian and myself spent the day in Grand Lake. We went to the Fall Folk Festival put on by the town. They had live music, craft booths, and food. We went for the music...and the food !!!. A lot of locals played and were very enjoyable. We went to see Nate Allman, a great musician and friend of the family. He did not disappoint, and played a great set. I went to see Wendy Waldman. I have been buying her albums since her solo debut in 1973. I even took the first album of hers that I had purchased for her to autograph, but, sadly, she cancelled, so that was not to be...
A nice surprise was hearing Brandon Patton. He is based in New York, via Minnesota and North California. He is very talented (and I think Halley has a crush on him!) I will be uploading pictures of both Nate and Brandon soon. Brandon has a very clean website http://www.brandonpatton.com/ give it a look...
As for the food, we went to a favorite place of Shirley's, a little hamburger stand down by the beach, only a block or two from the park where they were having the concert. We Had our cheeseburgers, shakes and fries, the kids played on the beach for a bit, and then played on the bumperboats. The weather was almost perfect...shirtsleeve weather at first, with cumulus clouds high overhead , partially shading us from the sun. It warmed up nicely in the early afternoon, and didn't turn breezy and a little cooler until just when we were ready to leave. We stopped on our way out of town to drive the "Grand Prix" miniature racing cars. The drive there and home was beautiful with the aspen at about thier peak of changing color...we stopped again in Granby for pizza and sandwiches, took them home and put on a netflix movie.all in all it was a very nice...
