I am embarrassed how long it has been since I have posted. I have lot's of excuses...but I will spare you....I would guess there is not-a-one that you may not be familiar with. I have been reading blog's-lot's of 'em...I have been especially intrigued with quite a few from Iraq and the Middle East. Some are from American soldiers, but a majority are by natives. I have to be honest, I really enjoy our soldiers' blogs, they are informative and interesting, but, frankly, and I'm just guessing, but I get a sense that they are deliberately upbeat and light for the simple reason that they are directed toward loved ones, friends, those who you would want to give a "positive" slant to things, whereas Iraq blogs, for the most part, are direct and straightforward, sometimes to the extent of being blunt. I know I have written about this before, possibly to the extent of being redundant, but I'll be honest, It has been one of the few bright spots for me as of late...I know "cabin fever" has something to do with it (we are entering our first major mud season) the cold and the grey...I wouldn't mind if it would snow like the dicken's (at least it's warmer most times when it snows) ...too muddy and cold to garden...almost too wet and muddy to get out of the car !!! I guess I will be going to a surgeon on St. Paddy's Day to discuss surgery on my discs. I'm not thrilled about that, but the drug's have been such nuisance I have to take them to get through work, and try to stay off them during weekends... but get that " dis-ease" feeling in my gut, even when I do take them...trouble is, now most days it doesn't go away...but I'm working on that. Maybe hot sulphur mud baths at Glenwood Springs for spring vacation would help...
I remember when we first came here, I thought if very queer that many locals-even retail merchants and restaurant owners, would shutter thier businesses and literally "go south" to avoid mud season...now I understand why...

I'll try not to be so long next time... Peace...
