7/22/2002 It has been so hard to write..some of it is...beyond pain...the things that I am feeling..and the feelings that go with it..like picking up thousands of shards of glass..each one cutting to the bone as I try to put this crystal Humpty Dumpty back together.. Katie is out of the house living with friends. We made the mistake of letting her go to Denver for the day, and instead of meeting friends at Waterworld, she went to stay with her 21 yr old "boyfriend" she met on the Internet, and whom her mom took out a restraining order against, for two days..(see is just 17). I was installing trim at a friend of the family, had the young kids there, and Shirley brought lunch. Katie called from the house, and proceeded to verbally abuse her mom for at least 20 minutes.I took off my nail apron walked out to the van, got in, and drove over to the house..(If I hadn't had to wait for a train, Shirley would have never caught me..lol..!) walked into Katie's room, turned her over my knee ( with a little bit of a struggle) and got three or four good whacks in before her mom and Evan pulled me off.. The only other time I had spanked that child (my mistake..?) was when she was fourteen and acting just about the same.. Well she called 911. of course she had done that several times before, for different reasons..but, of course, they had to come out and take a report from her and I and her mom and Evan. I would have been happy to go to jail if it had brought this thing with Ryan to an end, but it is going to get harder still, I think...oh those shards of glass...all this and the $1,500.00 phone bill over two months..enough to piss the Pope off !!!! ..And then there's Heather..! Touring Europe with her best friends for thier graduation from high school..oh how she loved island hopping in Greece..touring every island they could on mopeds..she said she has never been happier..! They rented an apartment in a fishing village for a week..no cars there..rode bicycles to the next town to catch trains to take day trips to all the places they wanted to see..or lay on the beach..hmmm why is it that WE aren't doing this, again..? oh yeah.. this is where life and reality run into each other like freight trains... posted by David | 7/22/2002 07:02:00 PM |
