Okay, I am back..however somewhat uninspired...Glenwood Springs was cold and damp...didn't even venture over to the hot springs..swam in the indoor pool once to unwind..but mostly walked. I liked that.. It was disconcerting to be in a larger town, though we get tourist traffic, like the Springs, it was still "busier" in a different way. I am probably just turning into a recluse..!! .. and I liked the weather, too, because it reminded me of a time that I am fond of...When I was very young..I was probably two or two-and-a-half..and I remember being back in Indiana. It is early in the morning..the sun not quite up, and I am walking down the street to the fire station with my dad just before he died ( he was the volunteer fire captain)..the is a little nip in the air..smell of wet leaves..and a bit of a fog rising up from the ground..we are walking..just walking..nothing said..just enjoying the walk...that's what I did this weekend...
I also picked up a book about little-known facts about Colorado that I am perusing and will include (read steal) any nuggets that I may find..
Everything is green here..drove the Trough road , an unpaved road that bypasses Silverthorne and Vail and approximately follows the Colorado River watershed..saved in hour driving and enjoyed the beauty and remoteness..the only folks out there were farmers and kayakers. I never get over the beauty of it all.. Back in Tabernash we are expecting weather to blow in..snowshowers and then clearing for the weekend..(the lawn loves it..!!)
..so, until we meet again...
